Some major natural disasters that have affected my country (Greece) are; earthquakes, volcano eruptions, tsunamis, and aggressive fires affecting the wildlife in the forests. Due to the high seismic activity in the country and being located at the boundary of Africa-Eurasia convergence, the Anatolian plate tends to rotate clockwise. The Aegean area is a compressional stress field and in the inner Aegean area it will experience general extensional stress field. This leads to large magnitude earthquakes and although some are moderate or small earthquakes these are typically felt every 2-3 days on average. Not every earthquake has been reported as 3 main ones that have caused the nose devastating human environment or even loss of life. The 3 reported are called lerissos (1932, 7.0), Argostoli (1953, 7.2), and Thessalia (1954.).  Volcanoes on the other hand are super active due to how many are located in Greece.
