Week 8: Mass Wasting Hazards in the US

For this week I will be discussing the "mass wasting" events about Greece. In this country various individuals are forced to deal with what is called mass wasting, due to the location of Greece landslides, rock falls, mudslides, and etc are super common which this leads to damaging homes and even roads. This typically occurs when gravitational pull is pushing down the rocks down cliffs. Sometimes what can also be the cause is the way mountains are formed/shaped in Greece, in Greece the mountains tend to have not just hard but also soft rocks which can make cliffs be not as stabled and prone to hazards. Just how every other country is trying to find ways to prevent these hazards, Greek authorities have tried finding solutions such as; adding reinforced steel fencing and adding nests around the cliffs. Often times when you visit hiking trails it's for the exact same reason to prevent those who are visiting tourist spots especially Greece that is super known for having a high tourist count, helps those visiting to know not to be at such a hazard spot. Warning signs and other equipment can be super helpful to prevent hazards and at the end it's to have a result of a safe island and not as much mass wasting hazards.
